About me & my expertise

 

I am a freelance filmmaker and photographer from southern Bavaria, Germany. For over 10 years I have traveled regularly to Latin America, speak fluent Spanish, Portuguese, and English, and since 2023 I have lived in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil for most of the year.

 

Thanks to the incredible warmth of the Brazilians, the many opportunities and the excellent infrastructure, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil has become my second home over time, and I am happy about it every day.

 

I have since invested in Rio de Janeiro myself and bought a condominium located directly on Copacabana - I have founded a limited liability company (Limitada in Portuguese) and am currently looking for land or a farm (Fazenda in Portuguese) in the area surrounding Rio.

 

The idea of truly establishing myself in Brazil arose in 2021 and initially seemed like a big "how do I do it?" After more than a year of analyzing the real estate market, exploring various visa options for real estate investments, building a trusted network of lawyers and real estate agents, and searching for the "perfect property," I took the leap — and can confidently say it was one of the best decisions of my life! From an investment perspective, it was also a good one, generating a solid ROI, as I rent out my apartment when I'm not living in Rio de Janeiro.

 

My idea wasn't just to have a home and a residency visa in Brazil, but also a "Plan B" to Germany/Europe and the Euro. Anyone who observes the European and global economy is aware of the dangers and instability we face, and especially given the catastrophic political and economic situation we currently have in Germany, it was very important for me to find a country in the world where I feel comfortable and to which I can retreat if necessary – Brazil fulfills all my criteria in this regard.
