The idea of emigrating to Brazil immediately conjures up images of sun, sea, samba, and joie de vivre for many. But between dream and reality lies a path that requires thorough preparation and reliable information. This is precisely where Plan-b-Brazil comes in.
From the beginning, my idea was more than just emigrating to Brazil. I wanted to build a second home – a country where I feel comfortable, safe, and, if necessary, able to live independently of Germany and Europe. It was important for me to create a real "Plan B" – also as a safeguard against economic and political developments in Europe and the euro.
Anyone who follows the situation in Germany knows how unstable many things have become. That's why I wanted to create an alternative for myself early on – a place that offers joy, stability, and prospects. Brazil – and especially Rio de Janeiro – fulfills all these criteria for me. Here, I not only received my residency visa in Brazil , but also the feeling of truly having arrived.
I'm sharing my own experiences with you – from buying my apartment in Copacabana , to setting up a limited company (Ltd.) , to building a stable life in Rio de Janeiro. If you're thinking about giving your life a new direction and want to know how to successfully establish yourself in Brazil, this article is the perfect starting point for your personal Plan B.

When I first traveled to Brazil a few years ago, it was simply out of curiosity. But with each visit, my fascination grew – for the country, the people, and the energy that Brazil radiates. At some point, I knew for sure: I want to live here.
The journey wasn't always easy. Brazilian paperwork, cultural differences, and language barriers demanded patience. But: With the right preparation and local support, emigrating to Brazil is absolutely possible – and worthwhile!
I started with a condo in Copacabana , which is now my home and office. The purchase process was an adventure, but with the right partners (lawyer, real estate agent, banker, notary), everything went smoothly. Today, I help others take the same step – whether for a Golden Visa , a new life in the sun, or a smart investment in Rio de Janeiro . Learn more about returns, rental income, and the Golden Visa through real estate purchases in Rio de Janeiro.
What surprises many is that the quality of life here is high, the people are open, and the opportunities are diverse.
My tip: Start with a longer stay (at least two weeks), explore Rio's neighborhoods and the surrounding rural areas, and find out where you truly feel at home. Consider why you want to take this step; what motivates you?
Since I myself spent a very long time searching for good and reliable information during my research on Brazil and its investment opportunities, visa options , and a trustworthy network, etc., and ultimately didn't really know what to expect from any website or after numerous consulting calls with law firms, I'm now happy to share my very specific practical knowledge and contacts and look forward to helping you with any questions you may have.
